Southeast Ireland's Premier Coarse Angling Guiding Service.

We spent the day (Sat 28th April 2012) in Dublin cleaning a wee Trout river(The Dodder) with the Irish Wildlife Trust and U.C.D. amongst others including the N.C.F.F.I. the A.C.I. and the Leinster Federation Lcffi. Two people remarked in passing that we are a dirty Nation and after seeing what we amassed from 1,000 yards I am more than inclined to agree with them. Fair play to all who attended.

I had this pic taken before the Minister grew to be very UN-POPULAR in Ireland
but hey he isn't getting no €100 from my Household! No harm big lad.

Angling enthusiasts from all over the country attended a Water Safety Course ran by the Angling Council of Ireland recently near Clonmel. Myself and Brian Bohan from Leitrim represented the National Coarse Fishing Federation of Ireland as well as our respective local clubs. Carlow C.A.C. had a good turn out for the course and recommend the course to all clubs. It is great to see the Angling Council bring the Pike, Salmon and Trout and Coarse anglers all together under one umbrella.

Recieving an award for our club 30th Nov 2011

We have appeared over the past few years in quite a few publications on a weekly basis which include Carlow Nationalist, Carlow People, Wicklow People, Angling Times, Irish Anglers Digest (several times), News of the World only to mention a few, we have also been a guest on radio broadcasts live and recorded as both a national representative for coarse anglers and provincial representative.

We have a good working relationship with Irelands Coarse Fishing which is Ireland's premium forum and web-site for coarse anglers operated by Mr David Warrington and Mr Mark Handsley http://www.irelandscoarsefishing.com

Other popular Irish web-sites we have worked with on projects with and had articles and reports printed are Anirishanglersworld (website) operated by Mr Ashley Hayden and Inlandfisheriesireland (website). We also worked with Ashley on a documentry/pilot programme based on fishing in Ireland.

Through my work as chairman of the local and most vocal coarse angling club in the country the Carlow cac I along with my committee have managed to implement several long term strategies regarding the river Barrow and successfully completed numerous courses and worked with people from all walks of life. I have loaded a few pics of clippings from publications within the Image Gallery. The Carlow Coarse Angling Club and their activities are well documented on the very popular club Facebook page below.

                      Carlow Coarse Angling Guides

I set up Carlow Coarse Angling Guides as I was always receiving calls and e-mails from visitors overseas looking to know where they can go to fish in Ireland mainly in the Co.Carlow area and on the River Barrow. I have a vast knowledge of the area and the different species of fish that can be caught which include Specimen Roach, Dace, Perch, Rudd, Bream and Hybrid Roach/Bream. I have at my disposal a vast network of anglers from not only Co. Carlow but all over Ireland. If you are looking to go on a relaxed journey to enjoy your pursuit of happiness that we all call coarse angling then Carlow Coarse Angling Guides can help you. There are plenty of other activities in the local area if your Wife/partner or children are traveling with you which include Shopping, Swimming, cycling, pet farms, nature walks, activity centers, cinemas, Traditional Irish pubs, hotels, golf courses, boating, historical venues and much much more in the Carlow area, it has a lot to offer.

We can tailor an angling holiday based around your particular needs and provide you with the appropriate contacts as regards accommodation, food and beverage or any other needs which you may have. We have eight certified coaches trained by the Angling Council of Ireland who will share their knowledge to the beginner angler, match angler or pleasure angler. All of our people also have completed First Aid courses and Code of Ethics Child Protection in Sports courses ran by the locally based Sports Partnership. We can bring you to other fisheries also if you would like to fish for Carp or even Rainbow Trout http://www.southerncounty.ie all within 45 mins of Carlow town. Maybe you could even fancy a wee bit of Pike fishing on the Barrow well renowned for it's large ladies or Sea Angling from the shore or skippered boat.
